The Kansas City Chorus of Sweet Adelines and the Heart of America Barbershop Chorus are bringing their 26th annual Holiday Harmony Spectacular to area audiences in two musical shows Dec. 7.
The ladies’ and men’s a cappella barbershop choruses will perform at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at City House, U.S. 40 and Noland Road in Independence. The shows are a mix of chorus and quartet performances of holiday music both old and new, from “Christmas in Kansas City” to “O Holy Night.”
The choruses will be joined by headliner men’s barbershop quartet Home. Though a new quartet, Home’s members are all past International barbershop contest competitors and have sung together in various combinations for a couple of decades.
Also on the bill will be at least eight quartets comprising members of the two choruses, plus a children’s chorus.
The stage at City House will be decorated by toys collected from singers and audience members for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots campaign.
General admission tickets are available for $25 ($20 each for purchases of at least 10) at the Heart of America Chorus website, hoachorus.com, or by calling (816) 945-9671. The Kansas City Chorus and the Heart of America Barbershop Chorus are both IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
